As a long time Hermosa Beach resident and a realtor here in the Southern California's South Bay, one of the most attractive attributes of the area, and one I proudly promote, is the nearly perfect weather. How could anyone not want to live here? It doesn't get too hot, it doesn't get too cold, and the sun is always out....until this year. Just as summer is approaching, when the ocean and air are both heating up, we get a month or so of fog or marine layer we call June gloom. Based on the name it occurs in June and as if a light switch turns on....July 4th is glorious and we never see the fog again....until now. This year we have enjoyed May gloom, June gloom, July gloom and we're definitely inching towards August goom. I certainly realize it could be worse, I'll take this over 110 anytime, but I'm ready for sunny Southern California to be....well, sunny.

If I remember correctly....this is what the sunset looks like....just another day in paradise

Weather alert! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and maybe all appears to be back to normal in the South Bay. Might be time to dust off my marketing material touting our "almost" perfect weather.
