Here in the Beach Cities snow is rarely in the forecast.....but not this holiday season. On December 11th the newly beautified Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach will welcome a day of snow filled activities. The event will offer a sledding hill, music, holiday movies, Santa Clause (often arriving by firetruck) and even a snowboarding demonstration. There is a snowboarding competion at 4pm, and tree lighting and Santa will arrive at 6. At 6:30 a certain number of people buy donations going to the Hermosa Beach Education Foundation will have open access to "Mount Hermosa"

Keith, sounding so planned, I'm assuming this will be manufactured snow, yes? Sounds like great fun!
Keith - I thought you're really having real snow out there in California. It is mighty cold here in New York but we are still lucky we haven't gotten any snow so far.
Hi Don....the only snow in Hermosa is definitely planned snow. It actually sounds like we'll be sledding on a giant snow cone as they say it will be shredded ice blocks. Nothing like surfing or volleyball in the morning and sledding later in the day.
